DIY Homemade Oatmeal Dog Shampoo


Got a pet with dry, itchy skin? This DIY Doggie Oatmeal shampoo helps heal irritated skin, as well as neutralize those unpleasant pet odors and help balance pH. This gentle cleaner will remove dirt and grime, revealing a beautiful, soft, shiny coat.

Homemade Oatmeal Dog Shampoo

Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • 1 Cup of Oatmeal
  • Cup of Baking Soda
  • 4 Cups of Warm Water
  • 1 Teaspoon of Dishwashing Liquid
  • 10 Drops of scented fragrance (optional – but we recommend vanilla or almond, and be sure they are pet safe)
  • Bottle for storage

Instructions:

Grind the oatmeal into a powder, similar to the consistency of flour. Add the baking soda, warm water, dishwashing liquid and optional fragrance drops into a storage bottle. Replace cap on bottle and shake for a couple minutes to insure thorough mixing. Be sure to store in a cool, dark place. Make sure to shake vigorously prior to each use.

      You will want to be sure to keep the shampoo out of your pet’s eyes, as the dish soap and fragrance could irritate their eyes. Due to the dish soap, this shampoo can generate a good lather, so you will also want to be sure to rinse your pet thoroughly.
